"Hockey for Everyone" is gearing up for another season - a totally free program for local boys and girls in Grades 3-8 who are not currently enrolled in minor hockey. Registration forms are available at the main desk of the arena (Tillsonburg Community Centre) and must be completed prior to skating.

Equipment will be made available in the Lion's Den at the Community Centre on Thursday, Jan. 4 from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. until noon.

There is no charge for equipment. Dave and Brad Martin of the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club, and George Manias of All Seasons Sports Exchange will be in charge of equipment distribution.

On-ice sessions begin Thursday and Friday, Jan. 11 and 12, from 7-8 a.m. All participants may attend these first two sessions.

After the first week participants will be divided into two groups - a 'junior' one skating Thursday mornings, and a 'senior' group on Friday mornings.

Hockey 4 Everyone runs each Thursday and Friday until the end of March. When the program finishes, there will be funding available for those who want to continue in a spring league 3-on-3 hockey program.

Hockey 4 Everyone is made possible by the Club Oxford Hockey League, the Kinsmen Club of Tillsonburg, the Knights of Columbus - St. Mary's Parish, The Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board, Good, Redden and Klosler, and other local business associations and private donations.

Local teachers Dan Dube, Brian Hopson and Craig MacDougall volunteer their time to provide instruction for skating, puck-handling, passing, and shooting skills leading up to no-body contact scrimmages.

"Join up this week and give your youngsters an opportunity to enjoy the great game of hockey," said Kim Alexander, Club Oxford Hockey president and founder of Hockey 4 Everyone.
