Remembrance Day is Saturday, Nov. 11, please buy a Poppy and wear it in Remembrance of our fallen soldiers, the veterans from the wars around the world, and for those serving in our military today striving to bring peace and a better way of life to people around the world.

The Tillsonburg Lions have recently donated to:

The Canadian Diabetes Society - Lions International supports Diabetes research and cure around the world.

Lions Quest Program: In Canada, many teachers are using this program in their classrooms to develop in their students a more positive self image, stronger leadership skills and strategies to combat bullying.

Saturday, Nov. 18 is the Santa Claus Parade. Come out and support your Santa Claus Parade by participating or attending. Tillsonburg firefighters will be collecting canned and boxed food along the parade route for the Helping Hand Food Bank, so please help if you can with a donation.

BINGO clarification: The actual calling of the Lions Bingo games begins at 7 p.m. sharp and goes to approximately 10 p.m., but the doors are open earlier and the sale of Bingo games and the purchasing of Nevada tickets begins at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Lions Presentation: The Tillsonburg Lions Club invited Lion Ingrid Coppens to speak to the club about the organ donor program through The Trillium Gift of Life Network. Lions help by promoting and helping to register donors for this program. The program promotes the donation of human organs, human tissue and transplantation across Canada.

It was an enlightening presentation and we learned many things about this wonderful program - one donor can save the lives of eight people and one person every three days in Canada dies without an organ transplant. If you want to register to be a donor or want to learn more you can do so by calling the following - 1-800-263-2833 or visit -
