Dog biting incident in Tillsonburg prompts public health investigation

Oxford County public health is investigating a dog biting incident that happened in Tillsonburg on Aug. 31.

At approximately 12 p.m. at Memorial Park a young boy and a young girl about 12 and 14 years old were walking a dog described as a medium-sized dog that was brindle in colour (brown or tawny with streaks of other colours).

Public health is seeking information about the dog in order to prevent rabies treatment for the victim.

Rabies is a fatal disease, if you are bitten by an animal, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water, seek medical attention and call public health at (519) 539-9800 ext. 3410.
