The final slo-pitch tournament of the year will take place this coming weekend hosted by the Tillsonburg Ladies Slo-Pitch League.

Hopefully the weather cooperates for that and the annual DC Memorial golf tournament which also takes place on the Saturday.

There are only at most five games left in the regular season for most teams and the races are heating up in all of the divisions.

Men's A

This division should go right down to the wire as only two points separate four teams!

Haines Roofing won a pair of lopsided games over Hounds and Roosters last week to move to 13 wins. G.C. Lounsbury are tied with one less win, but one less loss and two ties. They edged out Hounds 12-11 on Friday night.

Robert Q walked one off against Kekambas but had I.C. Waters turn the trick against them to remain just two points back of the leaders, tied with I.C. Waters.

Maple View Variety collected the other victory winning by five over Kekambas.

Maple View - Peter Epp 4-4, Johnny Epp 4-4

Kekambas - Travis Horvath 4-5, Steve Demeter 3-4

Peter Epp and Aaron Uhryn led the winners with three runs scored.

G.C. Lounsbury 12, Hounds 11

G.C. - Cory Smith 2-2, Greg Onaitis 3-3, Stephen Debonaire 2 HR, Chris Hoffman HR, Sean Little HR

Hounds - Chris MacDonald 3-4, Kyle Waite 3-4 HR, Scott Ball HR, Mike Bouck HR

Hounds tied it with a four run sixth but G.C. won it with walk off solo homer by Sean Little in the seventh.

Robert Q Travel 22, Kekambas 21

Robert Q - Darren Pace 5-6, Bryan Deblaire 5-5 4 HR, Ryan Black 2 HR, Josh Stubbs HR

Kekambas - Kyle Hollister 4-5 HR, Travis Horvath 4-5 2 HR

Bryan Deblaire had the walk-off hit in Robert Q's nine against nine win over Kekambas. Deblaire had homered in four consecutive at-bats.

Haines Roofing 31, Roosters 17

Haines - Kevin Harrop 5-5, Andrew Burns 5-5, Dave Phillips 2 HR, Brett Ferguson HR, Adam Thomson HR

Roosters - Greg Buchner 3-4, Josh Munro 4-4 2 HR, Mark Hamulecki 2 HR, Leo Centeno 2 HR

Roosters tied it in the third but Haines took over the lead plating seven in the bottom half. Andrew Burns and Kevin Harrop each scored five runs for Haines.

I.C. Waters 26, Robert Q Travel 25

I.C. - Aaron Laporte 6-6 3 HR, Darren Swick 4-5 HR

Robert Q - Ryan Black 6-6 2 HR, Bryan Deblaire 5-6, Josh Stubbs 4 HR

I.C. trailed by seven entering their last at-bat. Aaron Laporte led off the inning with a homer and closed out the game with another his third on the night. Josh Stubbs hit four round-trippers in a losing cause.

Haines Roofing 25, Hounds 10

Haines - Phil Durham 5-5 HR, Dan Clark 5-5 HR, Kevin Harrop HR, Chris Durham HR, Craig Smith HR

Hounds - Mike Bouck 2-2, Jim McKillen 2-3

Haines put this one away with seven in the third and fourth innings. Kevin Harrop had a homer, three singles, a double and five runs scored.

Men's B

East Elgin Spartans continue to lead the pack increasing their lead over second place Ward's Automotive to four points after edging out Pelicans and mercying Brew Jays. Ward's split their week mercying a short-handed Wine And Beer Shop squad, but then were mercied by Nancy's Variety themselves.

Diamond Dogs won by forfeit and scored late to beat Wine And Beer by five to move three points up on fourth place. Pelicans lost a heartbreaker to East Elgin and bounced back with a win over Nancy's Variety. Corey's Restaurant mercied Wine And Beer to move into a tie with Pelicans for fourth.

Corey's - Bob Long 4-4, Wes Haegens 3-4, Jason Vandomele HR

Wine And Beer - Chevy Fisher 3-3, Aaron Bradley 2-2, Scott Bako HR

Everyone in the winner's lineup scored at least one run.

Diamond Dogs 18, Wine And Beer Shop 13

Diamond Dogs - Kevin MacDonald 4-4, Ross Groat 4-4

Wine And Beer - Aaron Bradley 4-4, Kyle Laidlaw 4-5

Diamond Dogs scored 13 over their last three at-bats en route to victory. Alex Dalby led the winners with a pair of doubles.

East Elgin Spartans 18, Brew Jays 3

East Elgin - Jake Klaassen 4-4, Peter Froese 4-4, Pete Krahn HR, Martin Klassen 2 HR, Jacob Enns HR, Johnny Klassen HR

Brew Jays - Andrew Thiesen 2-2, Brandon Vermeersh 2-2

Martin Klaassen hit a pair of two-run homers for East Elgin.

Ward's Automotive 34, Wine And Beer Shop 19

Ward's - Gus Ford 6-6, Pat Tanner 6-6, Patric McElhone HR, Trevor Hawley HR

Wine And Beer - Kyle Laidlaw 4-5, Chris White 4-5, Nate Crocker HR

Ward's plated no less than four runs in each inning against the eight-man Wine And Beer squad. Gus Ford singled, doubled, tripled and crossed in all six plate appearances.

East Elgin Spartans 21, Pelicans 20

East Elgin - Corny Krahn 5-6, Ozy Escamilla 3-4, Abe Krahn - Grand Slam, Martin Klassen HR, Jake Friesen HR, Jake Klassen HR

Pelicans - Kevin Buchner 4-4, Adam Jensen 4-4 2 HR, Rob Fishback HR

This game went back and forth the whole night and was very entertaining. Corny Krahn batted in the winning run for East Elgin. Pelicans stranded the tying run at third in the bottom of the seventh.

Pelicans - Adam Jensen 4-5, Chris Parker 4-4

Nancy's - Dan McRae 3-4, Jordy Thompson 2-4

Adam Jensen led the Pelicans with a pair of two-run doubles.

Nancy's Variety 21, Ward's Automotive 6

Nancy's - Steve Smith 4-5, Rob Smith 4-5, Mark Siliker 2 HR, Dan McRae HR

Mark Siliker was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle for Nancy's Variety who won easily despite playing with only eight.

Men's C

There were some exciting games in the C loop last week. Brad Cole Orioles, despite playing with nine in a double-header, engineered late inning comebacks in both games tying the first against second place Boston Pizza and winning against Hammer Time, the only team that has beaten them.

Boston Pizza beat Hit N Run by five but had dropped a one-run decision to McKenzie Carquest in their previous game. Hit N run evened their week with a mercy over John Beere. John Beere won by three over McKenzie.

John Beere - Jesse Anderson 4-4, Kevin Listar 4-4 HR, Ross Russell HR, Craig Boucher HR, Andrew Barnim HR

McKenzie - Dylan Proulx 4-4, Andrew Pocs 4-5, Chad Vigar HR, Troyer Kovari HR

Ross Russell and Andrew Barnim each drove in four runs for John Beere.

Boston Pizza 17, Hit N Run 12

Boston Pizza - Josh Dewatcher 4-4, Will Hanson 4-4, Spencer Meron HR, Jordan Bruckler HR

Hit N Run - Jakie Enns 3-3, Jacob Klaassen 3-4, Paul Reimer HR, Diedrich Klassen 2 HR

Jordan Bruckler made a successful pitching debut for Boston Pizza and helped his own cause hitting a three-run homer.

Hit N Run 24, John Beere 9

Hit N Run - Jake Peters 4-4, Diedrich Klassen 2 HR

John Beere - Chris Fisher 3-3, Pete May 2-3, Ross Russell HR

Diedrich Klassen homered twice, drove in seven and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle for Hit N Run.

McKenzie Carquest 18, Boston Pizza 17

Mckenzie - Troyes Kovari 3-4, Justin French 3-4

Boston Pizza - Josh Dewatcher 4-4, Greg Flemming 3-4

McKenzie plated seven seventh-inning runs to take the win. Justin French crossed with the winning run.

Brad Cole Orioles 15, Hammer Time 12

Brad Cole - Trevor Fleet 4-5, Steve Reid 4-5 - Grand Slam

Hammer Time - Cam Curtis 3-3, Keith McMurdy 3-4

Steve Reid walked it off for a grand slam as Brad Cole fought back from a seventh-inning seven-run deficit. Denis Lenane made several spectacular catches in the winner's three-man outfield.

Boston Pizza 14, Brad Cole Orioles 14

Boston Pizza - Keith Agnew 5-5 HR, Adam Devlin 2-2, Josh Dewatcher HR

Brad Cole - Bryan Granger 4-5 2 HR, Steve Reid 3-4 HR

Sparkling defence by Brad Cole's outfielder Denis Lenane kept them close. In the end it was a sparkling catch by Boston Pizza's second sacker Jordan Bruckler that produced the game-ending double play.

Ladies A

There is quite the race going on for first place after the leader Corey's Restaurant had to forfeit their Monday game suffering their second straight defeat. They rebounded with a mercy over Energy Productions.

Indi-Girls won twice and sit with four losses with a big match with Corey's tonight. Corey's also has two games left against Jays who have just five losses. Jays edged out Service Master by the same score that they had earlier lost to them.

Energy - Melissa Douglas 2-2, Becky Brock 1-2

Anita Dahl pitched the shutout for Corey's. Tracey Pressey drove in five runs.

Centre Point Contractors 15, Steelerz 6

Centre Point - Jen Lee 4-4, Keri Sunderland 3-4

Steelerz - Krystal Sivyer 3-4, Bri Johnston 3-4

Centre Point scored 12 of their 15 runs in their last three at-bats. Keri Sunderland led the winners with a pair of doubles.

Indi-Girls 17, Service Master 15

Indi-Girls - Kate Hahn 3-4, Mandy Kromplak 3-4, Tena Bueckert - Grand Slam

Service Master - Tracy VanPuymbroeck 3-4, Becky Dancy 4-5

Indi-Girls scored six in the sixth to take the win. Tena Bueckert hit a grand slam in the rally.

Jays 12, Service Master 11

Jays - Amy Beattie 3-3, Kristen Cadotte 3-3

Service Master - Jess Brown 4-4, Mona Desmarchais 3-4

Jays went out to a big lead after three complete. Service Master pulled close in the sixth but Jays' Elma Weibe reached and scored the winning run in bottom of the sixth.

Indi-Girls 8, Centre Point Contractors 2

Indi-Girls - Kim Harrop 2-2, Tamarah Schultz 2-2

Centre Point - Katie Dedrick 3-3, Andrea Holden 2-3

Anna Dredger, Kim Harrop and Tamarah Schultz hit doubles for Indi-Girls.

Ladies B

The Steelerz continue to hold first place by two points over Energy Productions after both teams split last week, winning over divisional opponents while losing to top division foes. Shady Acres won against Pitch Slap to remain six points back of first.

Pitch - Erica Thompson 2-2, Kristen Corneille 2-3

Shady Acres scored six in three consecutive innings.

Energy Productions 24, Boston Pizza 2

Energy - Jen Kichler 4-4, Melissa Douglas 4-4, Jen Dahl HR

Boston Pizza - Brittany Wolf 3-3, Rachelle Platteeuw 2-3

Elisha Duvestijin, Jen Kichler and Jen Dahl scored four runs for Energy.

Steelerz 14, Pitch 4

Steelerz - Amber Granger 3-4, Niki Lama 3-4

Pitch - Erin Murray 3-3, Kristen Corneille 3-4

Niki Lama scored three runs for Steelerz.
