Broadway in downtown Tillsonburg was scheduled to be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday for Turtlefest, and it was closed again in the area of Venison early Saturday morning by OPP.

On Saturday, June 17, at approximately 2:45 a.m. members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police responded to the area of Broadway and Venison Street for reports of a person in medical distress.

Upon arrival, police located a male victim of an assault. The victim was taken to hospital by land ambulance and his medical condition has been upgraded to non-life threatening.

All roads and commercial areas have since been reopened. There are no concerns for public safety.
