Pickup truck damaged

On Saturday, May 6, at approximately 8 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police Norfolk County Detachment received a call from a concerned resident reporting the attempt theft of a vehicle on Middleton North Walsingham Townline Road.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that in the early morning hours, unknowns gained entry into a vehicle located on the property by damaging the passenger side door lock. Once inside, unknowns damaged the steering column and ignition in an attempt to remove the vehicle however they were unsuccessful.

Police are continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

Theft of licence plate

On Saturday, May 6, the Ontario Provincial Police Norfolk County Detachment investigated a license plate theft on Norfolk County Road 45, Houghton.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that in the early morning hours, unknowns removed a licence plate from a parked pickup truck located on the property.

The OPP want to remind all community residents that if they observe any suspicious activity to please contact the police immediately.

Police investigate break and enter

The Ontario Provincial Police, Norfolk County Detachment investigated a break and enter at a Troyer Road, South Walsingham address.

On Monday, May 8, at approximately 11:46 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter. Through the course of investigation, it was determined that between Friday, April 21, and Monday, May 8, unknowns forcibly gained entry into a shed on the property. Once inside, unknowns removed a box containing hardware, brackets and fittings along with 6ft ladder and a trolley.

The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact police 1-888-310-1122.
