Impaired driving charges

The Ontario Provincial Police Norfolk County detachment charged a 27-year-old male after police stopped a motor vehicle on Simcoe Street, east of Tillsonburg.
On Saturday, January 28, at approximately 2:28 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen about a vehicle travelling eastbound on London Street in Tillsonburg. Officers patrolling the area located the vehicle and stopped it to investigate the driver at a Simcoe Street address.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 27-year-old Christopher Mark Kersten of Norfolk County with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.
He was scheduled to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the concerned citizen that contacted police. There will be zero tolerance for anyone that decides to operate any motor vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol,” said Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP, in a media release.
