Good Samaritans turn in lost cash

On Saturday Dec. 24, a man using the ATM machine at The Bank of Montreal on Broadway in Tillsonburg discovered over $250 in Canadian currency left in the machine. The man remained at the machine for over 30 minutes in hopes the rightful owner would return.

No one showed up to claim the money so he turned it in to the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police. OPP have contacted the bank branch in hopes they can aid in the investigation as well.

If anyone may have lost the cash they are asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 519-688-6540 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. The owners will be asked to identify the exact amount and time it was lost.

US cash found

On Monday December 26, a man at the ONroute Service Centre located off Highway 401 eastbound in South-West Oxford Township, located between London and Kitchener in the Ingersoll area, found over $250 dollars in United States currency on the sidewalk and turned it in to Oxford County OPP.

If anyone may have lost the cash they are asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 519-485-6554 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. The owners will be asked to identify the exact amount and time it was lost.

OPP are hoping to return the cash in each incident to its rightful owners. If you had any relatives travelling through the area that may have lost the cash please share this information with them.

Stolen vehicle

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a stolen vehicle and several vehicles entries in the Princeton area in Blandford-Blenheim Township.

The theft occurred on Blenheim Road between 12 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The vehicle remains outstanding at this time and is described as follows:

* 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck

* Licence #435 2FS

* Grey in color

* Stock rims, painted black

* Blacked out tail lights

* LED rear turn signals under tailgate

OPP also recovered a stolen vehicle a short distance away on Blenheim Road, a few hours after the pickup truck was reported stolen. The recovered vehicle, a brown 2003 Acura, was reported stolen from the Kitchener area on December 27.

Several vehicles in the area were also entered overnight between December 27 and December 28. A total of six vehicles were entered in the Princeton and surrounding area on Elgin Street West, Blenheim Road, Township Road 2 and Township Road 3 in Blandford-Blenheim Township. Stolen items included electronics, cash, jewellery, keys and sunglasses.

The investigations are continuing for these incidents.
