15-year-old claims he was kidnapped

On October 22, the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police got a 911 call from a 15-year-old youth stating that he had been kidnapped by two people and was now in the back of a SUV.

They were on the 401 highway according to the youth.

Police later located the SUV and spoke to all the occupants. Investigation revealed the youth was unhappy his parents had not allowed him to go to a friend’s house.

St. Thomas Elgin paramedics attended the scene as the youth was hyperventilating. The youth was cleared by paramedics and changed by police with: Public Mischief contrary to section 140(1)(c) of the criminal code. This section of the criminal code applies when someone misleads a peace officer to enter into a criminal investigation under false grounds.
