Hundreds of Glendale High School students participated in the school's Spring Wellness Fair Wednesday morning focusing on nutrition, exercise and stress.

Organized by student success teacher Martha Fathers, some new ideas were introduced for their second wellness fair.

Fifty students signed up to listen to motivational speaker Holly Painter, 'the spoken word artist,' who had anti-bullying and inclusive language messages to share. Sixty students tried yoga with the Yoga Studio, and 30 signed up for tai chi with Tillsonburg's FLK Taoist Tai Chi.

RMTs Esther MacKinnon (Baldwin Street Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic) and Lindsay Tribble (On Our Way Massage Therapy and Wellness Clinic) provided massages for students.

In addition to tables focusing on relaxation, including colouring and pipe-cleaner creations, as well as an OPP information display. The Town of Tillsonburg presented summer job opportunities that involve wellness (eg. camp counsellor).

"The therapy dogs were the biggest hit," said Fathers.

Four dogs from the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program were on hand to 'meet' students.
