Week Eighteen Results

Poultry Specialties 13,

Corey’s Restaurant 3

Yeah! We are finally back into action and our opening game last week featured an A Division battle with Poultry taking on a short-handed Corey’s squad. It was only an early 5-2 1st half lead before the Restaurant crew just ran out of gas. Leading the way for the Poultry was Andy Metselaar with five, followed closely by a Stephan DeGroote hat trick, a pair from Steve Vanittersum and singles by Dan Vanittersum, Garret Schuurman and goalie Koert Vanittersum. Corey’s got a double from Mike Mesquita and single by Joel Taylor.

Courtland PPM 14,

Kraushaar Machine 8

Our 2nd B battle fixture was a lot closer with Courtland opening up an 8-3 1st half lead before Machine stepped up its offense making the 2nd half only a 6-5 edge. PPM’s Eduardo Centeno was the big gun leading the attack with eight, followed by four from bro Leo Centeno and singles by John Veldman and goalie Scott Vyn. The Machine got doubles from Tyler Harvey, Tim Hua and Selena Martinez with singles from George Martinez and goalie Devon Schuurman.

Wednesday, March 30

Verne’s Carpet 10,

Signshop 3

Our mid-week match featured another good A Division battle with the Carpet crew taking a close 3-2 1st half lead. Signshop just ran out of energy in the 2nd allowing another seven as Verne’s Wyatt Jull led the way with five, followed by two apiece from Carlos Oliveira and Rory Liston and the single by Kaitlyn Gooding. Signshop got two from Nate Shearer and a single by Neil Puente.

NuDecor 7,

Tillson Pizza 4

Our 2nd B fixture was another good game with NuDecor getting their 3rd win of the campaign. It was a turnaround half for the Decorators as Pizza opened up with a 2-0 1st half lead. NuDecor’s offence came to life in the 2nd with Aalt Pelleboer leading the way with three quick ones, followed by singles from Aaron DeJong, Cedric Tomico, Rachael Bryan and goalie Tyler Danbrook. Pizza got a double from Molson Page and singles by Laura Oliveira and Colin Nesplic.

Thursday, March 31

Poultry Specialties 6,

Danbrook Auto 4

Our closing week A matchup featured a very tough Divisional battle with the two top teams locking horns. Unfortunately for our leaders they were short-handed and fell behind 5-0 in the 1st. They did step it up and made it a game scoring four unanswered markers in the 2nd before Poultry rallied with a late one to seal the win.

Poultry’s big guns were Andy Metselaaar and Stephan DeGroote with two apiece and singles from Garret Schuurman and Koert Vanittersum. Danbrook got two from Jan Arnoudse with singles by Jason Beard and goalie Mike Thompson.

Courtland PPM 8,

Ontario Laser 7

Our last fixture was a barnburner with the Top 2 B Division leaders – again – matching up and it didn’t disappoint. It was Courtland only leading 4-3 at the half and it was a see-saw battle all the way to the end. Courtland’s Eduardo Centeno led the way once again with five, followed by a pair from John Rachar and single by Meagan Vyn. Laser’s point man was Ryan VanLeeuwen with four, followed by singles from Jill Yarmie, Bobby Orr and Nate Beard.
