Traffic stop leads to arrests, property recovery

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop at Harvey Street and Brock Street East in Tillsonburg.

As a result of investigation a male and female were arrested, charged, and a variety of inexpensive sunglasses, watches, costume jewellery, and iPods were recovered. Police say the recovered items were most likely from various vehicle entries.

Christine Bishop, 26, of Tillsonburg was charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs ~ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts).

Michael Scott, 22, of London was charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Carrying Concealed Weapon; Obstruct Peace Officer (two counts); Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest (two counts); and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
