Impaired driver on e-bike

On December 24, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police while on general patrol observed an e-bike with no pedals travelling on Bridge Street in Tillsonburg.
Police conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle fail to stop for two stop signs. As a result of investigation, the 29-year-old male, Michael McGaw of Tillsonburg was charged with the following: Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol) ~ Criminal Code; Driving with More than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood ~ Criminal Code; Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams ~ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; Disobey stop sign – fail to stop ~ Highway Traffic Act; and Power-assisted bicycle not in good working order.
The man was released on a Promise to Appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on January 26, 2016.
