Tonight! He’s coming tonight!

My Christmas wish for you is that all the work, baking, stress, spending, decorating, wrapping, cooking and anxiety will pay off tomorrow and you enjoy the day with loved ones.

Received this email this week and it made me nod in understanding and smile so I hope it does the same for you. Some may have seen it but it’s still cute.

A.A.A.D.D. Know The Symptoms

This is how Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder manifests:

I decided to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I notice my car really needs to be washed. I start toward the garage to get the bucket and notice the mail I brought in from the mail box earlier, on the porch table. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the kitchen table and put the junk mail in the garbage under the table and notice the can is full so I decide to put the bills on the table and take out the garbage first. Since I am going to be near the mailbox, when I take out the garbage, I may as well pay the bills.

I take my cheque book out of a kitchen drawer and see there is only one cheque left. My extra cheques are in my desk so I go to the office and find the can of Coke I’d been drinking. I go to move the can aside so I don’t knock it over before I look for my cheques and find the Coke is getting warm. I decide to put it in the fridge. As I head into the kitchen a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye. They need water.

I put the Coke on the counter and discover the reading glasses I’ve been looking for. I decide I better put them back on my desk but first I will water the flowers. I set the glasses down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize when we go to watch TV tonight I’ll be looking for the remote so decide to put it back in the den where it belongs but first I’ll water the flowers.

As I pour water into the vase I spill some on the floor so I set the remote on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day: the car isn’t washed, the bills aren’t paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the flowers don’t have enough water, there is still only one cheque in my cheque book, I can’t find the remote, I can’t find my glasses and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys.

When I try to figure out why nothing got done today I am really baffled because I know I was busy all day and I am really tired.

I realize this might be a serious problem so I’ll try to get some help for it, but first I’ll check my e-mail…

Merry Christmas everyone.
