Letter from Wingfield Farm

Article content

Are the Christmas what-to-buy-ems starting to bug you?

Well, Walt Wingfield can help you laugh away those holiday shopping problems!

The fundraising committee for Tillsonburg's Annandale National Historic Site is bringing Walt and his Persephone township buddies back for a fifth time next June. Tickets for this episode of the highly-popular series will be available for gifting at Annandale House.

Award-winning actor Rod Beattie has been the solo star in the series that started 30 years ago. The story is about a businessman who tries to escape to a rural lifestyle and make his living on a 100-acre farm. Through voice change, facial expressions and body language, Beattie plays all the rural characters as he tells of his trials through letters to the editor of the local weekly newspaper.

Four episodes of the Wingfield story have previously been shown at the Otter Valley Playhouse. This time we will be hosting the first play in the series, "Letter from Wingfield Farm."

Wingfield has travelled Canada, into the United States, and onto the television screen, earning rave reviews along the way and building a base of loyal followers.

The show has been booked for Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2 p.m.

Tickets, at $45, tax included, are available at Annandale National Historic Site, 30 Tillson Ave., Tillsonburg. Phone 519-842-2294.
