West Region OPP is asking for the public’s help to find a former Woodstock resident convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in a 2008 attack.
Christopher Fulton was sentenced to nine years in jail in 2011 after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
He was originally charged with attempted murder after stabbing his ex-girlfriend five times when he was collecting belongings from her Durham Cres. apartment after a break-up.
The brutal attack also led to a 14-hour police standoff during which Fulton threatened to stab a police officer and burn down the building.
Thanks to the two-for-one credit Fulton received for his time served after the 2008 arrest, he was released from jail in 2013.
Fulton, who was living in Toronto, was reported missing by his family on May 11, 2015.
He is described as 5’8” in height, 165 pounds with a thin build, green eyes, and short brown hair. Anyone with information about Fulton should call 911 immediately.
Police said that Fulton drives a 1993 blue GMC Safari Van, with the license plate BWDA 828.
Before the stabbing in 2008, Fulton also served a three-year prison sentence for a violent attack on a previous ex-girlfriend. He broke a window and then threw a flaming rag into the woman’s house.
Fulton was previously declared a long-term offender – dodging a dangerous offender designation – a label he was supposed to carry for 10 years after his release from jail. The Ontario Court of Appeal overturned his long-term offender designation in 2012.
