Sydnie Lane - Tillsonburg Library (OCL)

There is something happening at the library every day of March Break – and it’s all free!

On Monday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. we’ll welcome professional chefs from the Growing Chefs program. Young cooks will get lots of hands-on experience with proper cutting and cooking techniques, as well as learn how to make healthy, restaurant-quality dishes. This program is suitable for those between 10-17 years.

Mad Scientists will "edu-tain" you with Asimov’s Laws of Robotics and applications of robotic technology in the fun-filled Robots 101 program on Tuesday, March 17 at 1 p.m. This program is for ages 5 through 12 years.

Get medieval with marshmallows as you build several types of candy artillery on Wednesday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Marshmallow catapults, slingshots and blow guns will be used to target styrofoam cups and paper plates to teach participants about the importance of force, angles and gravity. Open to children ages 7-12.

Attend a fantastic concert by talented local musician and performer Paul Droog on Thursday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Paul will share interactive songs and music with his guitar that will entertain both the young and the young at heart. Open to children 0-12 years and guardians.

And we’ll wrap-up March Break Madness with a great flick on Friday! We will screen The Croods at 1 p.m., and everyone is welcome – plus free popcorn will be available! All of these programs (except the film) require registration, so please contact the library to reserve your space! A big thank you to the Friends of Tillsonburg Library Committee for sponsoring our March Break programs.

Writer's Circle

Calling all writers! Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. will be the inaugural meeting of the Writer’s Circle. If you love the written word, have a passion for creating short stories or poetry, are crafting your memoir, or even the next great Canadian novel, consider joining this dynamic group.

Here you’ll receive encouragement, feedback, and the expertise of other enthusiastic amateur writers. The Writer’s Circle will meet bi-monthly on Thursdays and is open to teens and adults. Please contact the library to register.

United Nations Debate

Don’t miss your opportunity to get educated about the upcoming United Nations Community Debate happening on April 25! Representatives from Glendale High School’s United Nations Club will be at the library to host information sessions on March 12 from 1-3 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as April 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Learn more about this exciting initiative, about the resolution topics, how to conduct research, and how to debate! This is a free program.

Spring Jewellery Sale

The Tillsonburg Public Library is holding a Spring Jewellery Sale with proceeds going towards library programming for youth, and we need your help! We are currently accepting donations of gently used jewellery to be included in the sale. Donations can be dropped-off at the library service desk during open hours until April 27. Thank you in advance for supporting youth programs in our community!
