Tillsonburg Thunder goalie Cody Vinnai was on his game Saturday in a 6-0 WOAA senior men's hockey win over Petrolia Squires at the Kinsmen Memorial Arena. Despite being outshot 35-25, the Thunder skated away with a 6-0 home-ice win.
Outshot 15-4 in the first period, Tillsonburg took a 1-0 lead into the second on Ryan Stephenson's 12th goal of the season on a power play.
The second period was evenly played with the Thunder striking twice more. Kevin Galerno scored on a wrist shot from the slot at 4:29. A late Mike Bush crosscheck to Galerno's back, sending him sprawling into the crease, erupted into a melee resulting in four 10-minute misconducts and a Thunder power play. Brad Martin scored with the man advantage redirecting a low point shot just under the crossbar 29 seconds later.
Petrolia goalie Mathew Slotwinski gave up three more goals on 11 shots in the third, two of them power plays (Tillsonburg was 4-6 on the night).
