Article content

After five-and-a-half years employed as a driving instructor, Cara Tilson Parker has chosen to begin a new adventure in life and open her own driving school.

Parker Right Driving Academy is located at 7B Brock St. East in Tillsonburg where there will be an Open House and Grand Opening on Wednesday, November 5 from 5-8 p.m.

The first Parker Right Driving Academy class is set to be a weekend session on Saturdays and Sundays, running November 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th. It is a four-day session.

After 15 years in a factory, Parker went back to school at 40 years old. She attended Centennial College in March of 2009 to certify for in-car instruction and again, later in 2009, at Humber College to certify for in-class instruction. Having already taught hundreds of students, she is looking forward to serving Tillsonburg and area’s driving needs.

"I worked in a factory, and I hated getting up and going to work. This, I love. I love how rewarding it is. It pleases the kids, it pleases me. I love working with the teenagers, I love knowing that I'm helping. It's very rewarding."

Parker Right provides a Ministry of Transportation approved 40-hour Beginner Driver Education course, which covers the in-class time, in-car time and home-link workbook. The program covers, rules, signs, defensive driving, emergency procedures and much more for students to become safe, controlled, aware and defensive drivers.

Please feel free to stop in Wednesday the 5th to meet Cara, see the classroom, ask questions or register for upcoming courses. Anyone registering for a course by December 31, even a spring course, receives a discounted cost. The price returns to 'regular,' January 1, 2015. Courses and cost are listed on the website.

Private lessons available for seniors.

Take some time to check Parker Right out on Facebook, Twitter or the web at www.parkerright.ca. She can be reached at 519-983-8466 or by email at cara@parkerright.ca.
