Owl Prowl at Backus sure to be a hoot

Backus Heritage Conservation Area is once again gearing up for its popular Owl Prowl program. On Saturday, Nov. 29 learn some interesting facts about owls on a guided night walk with Outdoor Educator Fiona Street.

Families are invited to arrive at 5 pm. on the 29th to take part in a special owl craft activity, examine an owl pellet and view wildlife displays.

The Owl Prowl program begins with a slide presentation inside the Conservation Education Centre at 5:30 p.m., followed by a walk through the woods at 6 p.m. to look and listen for owls, including Eastern Screech or Great-Horned Owls.

Admission to the November 29 Owl Prowl special event is $2 per child, $4 per adult or $10 for a family. Pre-registration is recommended as spaces are limited.

Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and clothing for an evening walk along the forest trails.
