Halloween is just over a week away, so come celebrate with us at our Little Monsters’ Storytime on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Tillsonburg Library.
This is a great opportunity for little ones and their parents or grandparents to share some spooky stories, rhymes, and songs. Pre-registration is required, so contact the library soon to reserve your spaces! This storytime will be most enjoyed by kids under the age of six.
Laughter Yoga, back once again by popular demand, starts next Monday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. If you love to laugh and are interested in learning a new stress relief technique, drop by our program room and have instructor Gail Kavelman lead you in an easy-going, spirit-lifting exercise.
Also starting next Monday is Chess 101 for ages six to 17 years. If your child is interested in learning the fundamentals of chess or improving his/her strategy, join us for a six-week session that will focus on developing his/her game. This program starts at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays from October 27 through December 1. Please phone the library to pre-register for the session. We are also looking for adults who are interested in joining a chess club, so if this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please phone the library to let us know. We hope to start an adult program in November should there be enough interest.
History and mystery combine on Thursday, November 6! Join Stephen Bourne for an intriguing look at the murder of Richard III, one of the most fascinating cold cases in history. A master orator, Bourne’s presentation should not be missed! Appropriate for teens and adults, start time is 7 p.m. Contact the library to reserve your spot for this fascinating talk!
The library is pleased to present author Elizabeth Guillott on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 12 p.m.! Guillott, a former Tillsonburg resident, is the author of The Land of Triangles, an adventure-mystery for readers in Grades 4 through 9. A fishing trip gone awry and the Bermuda Triangle are the focus of this action-packed novel, which adventure lovers are sure to enjoy! Join us to meet Guillot, hear passages from her book, and pick up an autographed copy. After the reading, stick around for our Saturday Family Movie at 1 p.m.
Just a reminder, the library will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day.
