What's Happening at Tillsonburg Library

From October 5 through December 14 the library in Tillsonburg will be open on Sundays from 1-4 p.m.

Once again, we’ll be offering basic services including computer use, book and DVD loans, spots to study or areas to read with the family. Please note that we will be closed on holiday Sundays.

New and returning programs are starting this October!

Calling all young chess enthusiasts! If you are between the ages of six and 17, and are interested in learning the rules and strategy of chess, then this program is for you. Join us starting Monday, Oct. 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for six weeks of fun and games! Please contact the library to reserve your space.

The ever-popular Laughter Yoga program is back for the fall! Learn how to get rid of your stress by laughing it away with instructor Gail Kavelman. This free, drop-in program is great for those individuals of any ability, no previous yoga experience is required. Sessions start on Monday, Oct. 27 through Monday, Dec. 1 from 6:30-7:15 p.m. See you there!

Do you love cupcakes? How about art? Whether you’re a fan of either or both, you might want to check out DIY Cups and Cakes. This program, for 13-17 year olds allows you decorate delicious cupcakes and design a special mug for yourself (or someone else). This free program will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1-3 p.m. Please register in advance.

We’re starting to get in the Halloween spirit here at the library! On October 30 we will host a Little Monsters Halloween Storytime for babies through six-year-olds, where Becky will read gentle Halloween tales, sing songs, and create a spooky craft! Little ghouls are welcome to wear their favourite costume, and grandma and grandpa ghouls are invited too. Storytime starts at 7 p.m. and requires pre-registration, so contact the library to reserve your space soon!

And just a reminder, even though the library is now open Sundays, we won’t be open Sunday, Oct. 12 – or Monday, Oct. 13 for that matter! Happy Thanksgiving!
