Once again this year Tim Neufeld and his band, The Glory Boys, will be bringing their hand-raising praise and worship music to North Broadway Baptist Church on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
Neufeld has a brand new album that just came out a few weeks ago called "The Joy." Songs from it and his other albums will be featured that night.
Neufeld hails from Abbotsford, B.C. He and his brother Jon headed up the award winning group Starfield together. Now Tim has gone out on his own, last year releasing the "Trees" album.
For his debut efforts he won awards from the Gospel Music Association and this past March a Juno award for Contemporary Christian/Gospel album. His new album "The Joy" sounds a bit country blues-grassy like, though still heavy on praise and worship. Songs like I'm Free, The River and Nothing But The Blood will have you tapping your feet and even clapping along.
The album features instruments like banjo, upright bass, dobro even a pedal steel guitar and hammered dulcimer and was recorded in both Nashville and BC.
Tim and The Boys are currently criss-crossing Canada at a crazy pace. The Joy-Ride tour started September in the west and then in October they travel east to Newfoundland and then back into Ontario before heading homeward in late November. An ambitious schedule with numerous stops in both large and small churches.
Come out to North Broadway Baptist Church for an evening you won't soon forget. Tickets available at Tillsonburg Gospel Lighthouse, Christian Armoury Woodstock, and the church office/website. $12 advance and $15 at the door.
