Fall is a fabulous season at Backus Heritage Conservation Area and the Long Point Region Conservation Authority (LPRCA) is celebrating with a guided nature walk.
On Sunday, Oct. 5 explore the autumn woods with LPRCA Outdoor Educator Fiona Street. Admire the changing colour of the leaves, watch for wildlife along the trails and simply enjoy time outdoors.
The guided nature walk starts at 12 p.m. (noon) from the Conservation Education Centre and will be approximately 90 minutes in length. Visitors can explore the building and the variety of displays one hour prior to and following the hike.
This is a perfect outing for the entire family to learn about seasonal changes. Head down the trails and learn how animals and plants prepare for winter and interesting facts about Carolinian trees and migrating raptors.
Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and wear footwear suitable for uneven terrain. Admission is by donation.
