1914: The Last Trench Fighter PHOTOS II

In Act 3 of Robin Barker-James' play, 1914: The Last Trench Fighter (Part 1) Sunday afternoon, the actors and audience returned to The Barn Theatre after witnessing the siege of Belgian Fort Loncin and massacre at the village of Ethe. A young Cecil Farmer (James Diamond) announces he has joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force and ships out to Camp Valcartier in the early fall of 1914. After training in Quebec, Farmer heads overseas and witnesses the 1914 Christmas Truce near Ypres.

Tickets are still available for the second week of The Last Trench Fighter, Sept. 11-14, (6 p.m. on Thursday/Friday and 1 and 6 p.m. on Saturday/Sunday) – contact Robin Barker-James at 519-688-0066. Twenty local actors – children and adults – are involved in the live outdoor historical play showing at Barker-James Outdoor History Site (at 164886 New Road, RR2 Tillsonburg).
