It wouldn't be a watermelon festival without free watermelon, and there was plenty of it Saturday in Straffordville for the 17th Annual Watermelon Fest. A fun-filled event, the August 23rd Watermelon Fest featured a parade, children's activities, games and rides, local music entertainment and vendors, car show, an educational animal display, reptile and magic shows, silent auction and more, made possible through a partnership between a group of dedicated volunteers and the Municipality of Bayham.
