Criminal charges for driver caught speeding on Rokeby

Ontario Provincial Police of Oxford County have charged an Ancaster man with stunt driving on Rokeby Side Road.
On Saturday, August 16, police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Rokeby Side Road. The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 145km/h. Based on the observations and investigative steps taken by the OPP officer, the driver, an 18-year-old male of Ancaster has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code.
David Flantua was charged with the following: Race motor vehicle - Highway Traffic Act; Possession more than one licence - Highway Traffic Act; Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice - Criminal Code of Canada; Public Mischief - Criminal Code of Canada.
The vehicle was impounded for the prescribed seven-day period and his driver’s license is suspended for seven days.
OPP would like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling.
