Tuesday, July 22 was a hot and humid day for the Tuesday Lady Golfers' annual Scotch Two Ball Tournament.

Thirty-Six ladies teed off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. for 18 holes of play. Following our golf game we gathered at the home of Adele Armstrong for a fabulous potluck luncheon.

Apparently our expertise goes well beyond the game of golf. We savored delicious appetizers, a variety of salads and several scrumptious desserts. Our apologies to all the hubbies who had to make their own dinner Tuesday evening!

Conveners Adele Armstrong and Wendy Coward announced the winners and presented the prizes. The following were the final results: Low Gross for the day: Robbie Yaroschuk and Mary Jane Barth with a 96. First Low Net: Jan Freedman and Sue Ure with 63. Second low net: Anne Spencer and Ruth Joness with 65.5. Third low net: Carol Livingston and Mae Moffat with 66.5. Fourth low net: Phyl Lawrence and Eileen Stamper with 67 by retro.

Anne Spencer won closest to the pin on Hole No. 2 and Mae Moffat won closest to the pin on Hole No. 5. Everyone else had their names drawn from a hat and took home a consolation prize.

Phyl Lawrence thanked Adele for welcoming us into her beautiful home and yard and presented her with a bottle of wine in appreciation.

A lot of work goes into preparing and running a tournament. Many thanks to Adele and Wendy for a job well done. Thanks to Shirley Waterhouse for the lovely flower arrangements on the dining table and also to our pro Peter Hancox and his staff for their help.

We're back to regular play next Tuesday. Hopefully our good luck with the weather will continue.

See you on the greens.

— Mae Moffat
