DRIVER CHARGED WITH EXCESSIVE SPEED

NORWICH TOWNSHIP

An Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member, while out on general patrol, observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 59 in Norwich Township at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014. The vehicle was driving 136 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver, Adrien Scholten, 31 years old, of Otterville, was stopped and charged with Stunt Driving. His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended.

VANDALS TARGET MAILBOXES

ZORRA TOWNSHIP

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police were called to investigate several mischief complaints overnight between July 12-13. Investigation revealed four mailboxes were damaged on the 37th Line between Road 92 and Road 96 in Zorra Township. The investigation continues.

THEFT OF ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES

ZORRA TOWNSHIP

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police were called to investigate a theft of two all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) from trails in the area of the 25th and 27th Line between Road 88 and Road 92. The owners left the vehicles off the trail and went to purchase more fuel. When they returned a short time later both vehicles were missing.

The vehicles stolen are as follows: 2011 Arctic Cat – 4 wheel ATV, Brown Licence # 28XV6; and 2012 Arctic Cat – 4 Wheel ATV, Black, Licence # 65ZL3. The investigation into the theft continues.

BREAK AND ENTER TO SHED

NORWICH TOWNSHIP

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a break and enter to a shed on Hanmer Line in Norwich Township on July 12. The theft took place sometime between July 1, 2014 and July 12, 2014. Unknown suspect(s) entered the shed and stole the following items: ECHO – gas leaf blower; STIHL – orange chainsaw; and DEWALT – yellow battery operated hand drill

Value of the items taken is approximately $750. The investigation continues.

BREAK AND ENTER TO RESIDENCE

NORWICH TOWNSHIP

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a break and enter to a residence on Quaker Street in Norwich Township. Sometime between 8 p.m. on July 11, 2014 and 2:45 p.m. on July 12, 2014, unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a rear door to the residence. Items stolen include: Samsung Galaxy tablet; Apple iPod; HP digital camcorder; and $110 Canadian currency.

The approximate value of the items taken is over $1,000. The investigation continues.

BREAK AND ENTER TO RESIDENCE

BLANDFORD BLENHEIM TOWNSHIP

Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police were called to investigate a break and enter to a residence on Oxford Road 3 in Blandford Blenheim Township on July 11, 2014 Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 11. The suspect(s) entered the residence by climbing through an unlocked window. Three pieces of heirloom gold ladies jewellery was taken, value unknown. The investigation continues.
