Hot and humid seems to be the norm for the Tuesday Lady golfers at The Bridges. But as long as there's no rain, our prayers have been answered and we're not complaining.

Canada Day brought out eight 18-hole ladies and 12 9-hole ladies for a round of golf.

The 18-hole golfers played for total putts. In Flight A Sue Ure was first with 29 putts. Phyl Lawrence was second with 30 putts. In Flight B Robbie Yaroschak was first with 28 putts and Mary Wiltshire was second with 34 putts. Lil Neale had a birdie on hole #18.

The 9-hole golfers played Bingo, Bango, Bongo (one point each for first on, closest to the pin and first in). Cartherine Burke was first with 10 points. Mary Delouche was second with 9 points. Jan Hawkins and Mae Moffat tied for third with 8 points.

Our numbers were a little low because of the mid-week holiday, but I hope everyone had a great day and celebrated the privilege of being a Canadian.

On Tuesday, July 8, the nine-hole ladies almost got their game in without getting wet. Almost. The last two groups got drenched just as we were finishing up. Oh well... you can't be lucky all the time and we have been very lucky the past few weeks.

Twenty-three ladies played for total gross on the par 4 holes.

The results were as follows: Mary Delouche was first with 18, Peg Hogarth was second with 20, and Mary Jane Barth was third with 21. Marion Hevenor, Ruth McSpadden, Wilma Jeffery, Mary Fassaert and Liz Lessif all tied for fourth with 22.

Shirley Waterhouse had a birdie on hole #2.

Nine 18-hole ladies participated in a tournament at Craigowan. Unfortunately a thunderstorm cut their game short. However, they had wonderful lunch and everyone came home with a prize and a free green fee with a cart for future enjoyment. Not a bad day after all!

Our Scotch two-ball and potluck is coming up in two weeks. Please make sure you are signed up for a fun tournament and an awesome lunch. Signup sheets are posted in the change room.

See you on the greens.
