Canada Day at Annandale National Historic Site

With bad weather in Tuesday morning's forecast, organizers of the Canada Day activities at Annandale National Historic Site decided to bring their Fun Fair indoors. Curator Patricia Phelps and volunteers were greeted by 300 people at 12 noon for the Fun Fair, which included free games (with prizes), face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, freezies and Canada Day cake.
Also on site, ANHS held an Open House from 10-4, which included the famous Otter Find Contest and annual Canada Day Quiz.
By 1:30 p.m., more than 660 people had gone upstairs to the second floor activity room, and they were very close to 700 when it ended at 2 p.m. The cake had been devoured, they ran out of snow cone cups and freezies... the face painters had been busy for two straight hours... and Phelps could not have been happier.
