TD Canada Trust takes the adult turtle canoe race

There were some fast times in the annual Turtle Dragon Canoe Races on Lake Lisgar Saturday morning, but none were faster than TD Canada Trust's Shannon Davis and Erin Layman, who powered their 'dragon canoe' from the dock to the water fountain and back in three minutes, 30 seconds to take their heat and the timed final in the adult division.
Davis and Layman edged out smooth-paddling heat-winners Wayne and George Beard in Lil Wisker by seven seconds, and the third-place team of Keith O'Donnell and Aaron Ventnor, who crossed the line at 3:51.
Floyd Marshall from 3rd Tillsonburg Sea Scouts proudly announced the winner of the Adult & Youth Division was Allyson Veinot and Ryan Peever, who were representing 3rd Tillsonburg Sea Scouts.
Alec and Grace Gilvesy won the Youth Race.
Each of the dragon canoes was decorated in turtle theme for Turtlefest.
