Langton Sacred Heart Catholic School and Langton Public School held their fourth bi-annual Relay for Life Friday.
Cancer survivors walked around the track, surrounded by students, following 9:15 a.m. opening ceremonies. Students from both schools continued walking around the track throughout the day in shifts.
During closing ceremonies, co-organizer Pierre Chasse announced they had raised $11,240.66, and having surpassed the $10,000 goal, Chasse from Sacred Heart and Cole Schaeffer from Langton Public both received their promised 'haircuts.' Lily DeCloet got started on Chasse's hair, while Donovan Suderman and Chloe Cridland went to work on Schaeffer's hair.
Funds raised will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
