Two Norfolk County residents are facing a total of 11 charges following a wild ride beginning at a residence on Ostrander Road.

Oxford OPP received a report a pickup truck had been stolen early in the morning hours Monday, April 7, towed away by another pickup truck. At approximately 2:10 a.m., officers located and attempted to stop a suspect vehicle being driven by one male suspect, towing the stolen pickup being driven by a second male suspect.

The drivers continued eastbound at a high rate of speed, resulting in a collision between the trucks and separation of the tow.

The driver of the stolen truck abandoned that vehicle, jumping into the lead pickup which continued to attempt to elude police pursuit, which was terminated a short time later.

Shortly after that, the suspect pickup truck was located by police abandoned on a railway trail south of Cornell Road. Fresh tracks were observed, believed to be made by suspects fleeing the area. OPP Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called in to assist with a ground search which located two male suspects hiding in a brush area, north of where the stolen vehicle was abandoned. Both males were arrested.
