Sydnie Lane - Library Lane

The library’s hours are changing! Based on the results of our recent library survey, the library will be offering Sunday service from March 16 through June 15. We will also be modifying some of the other hours during the week based on your feedback.

Visit us anytime:

Monday: Thursday 9:30-8:30 p.m.

Friday: 9:30-6 p.m.

Saturday: 9:30-4 p.m.

Sunday: 1-4 p.m.

We are also excited to announce a partnership with VON Oxford that will bring the SMART (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together) program to the library. VON’s SMART program gives seniors the chance to exercise in a controlled environment under the guidance of specially trained VON staff and volunteers. This is an excellent option for those with mobility issues who are looking for a gentle exercise program. This is a free drop-in program that will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2 p.m. starting on Tuesday, March 18.

A reminder that we will be hosting a Crime Stoppers presentation on Wednesday, March 19 at 1 p.m. Stop in to learn some tips about keeping yourself and your community safe, as well as to learn about the Seniors Crime Stopper Program. This is a free program for adults, don’t miss it!

Do you love to read and love to chat about books? There are still spots available for the library’s book club, Ravenous Readers! Our group meets the last Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. to discuss the book of the month. March’s book is The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley and can be picked up at the service desk. All you need is a library card!

The spring session of Books for Babies and Storytime (for kids 0-6) will be starting on Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20 respectively. These programs provide a great opportunity to work on your child’s early literacy skills with reading, rhymes, songs, and more. It’s also a great way to meet other parents and young children. These are free, drop-in programs. For more information see ocl.net or contact the library.
