Christmas spirit abounds Around Annandale

Article content

Annandale has been in the real Christmas spirit.

Our food drive was a great success! As a school we collected 1,566 pounds of food. Even more food was collected at our 18th annual Christmas concert. A big thank you to all those who donated to the food drive. All food collected has been sent to the Helping Hand Food Bank.

We would all like to thank Mrs. Kingsbury for organizing our amazing Christmas Concert. The Grade 7 and 8 bands played brilliantly. The concert was filled with musical talent. Not only did the bands perform extravagantly, but spectators also got the chance to view soloists Timmy Wiebe, Megan Ward, Emma Dew, Sarah Gobeil, Savannah Baker, Mariana Carson, Jasmine Reddecop, Tiana Wall, Paul Shearer, Denika Waite, Justine Lemaich, and Kristen Arnel. On this night, we raised $760 for the local food bank.

Oxford Trustee Bill McKinnon attended. Thank you all for your fantastic performances, and to those of you who attended.

A reminder to all students and parents that the first fundraiser for Camp Celtic of selling chocolates is now complete. Also the first two deposits have already been collected. More information about camp and our second fundraiser will be sent home in January. If you have any questions about the Grade 8 trip to camp please be sure to contact Ms. Kisilak at Annandale School ASAP.

On Friday, December 13th we had our ‘Decorate a Student’ contest. Classes decorated students to earn spirit points. Some awesome costumes were created (see related photo). This was just one of the many dress up days and contests that the Leadership Council and Ms. Kisilak have organized this year.

Annandale would like to wish you a safe and fun holiday. Happy Holidays, Tillsonburg!
