Week 4

Tuesday, Nov. 19

Danbrook Auto 6, Poultry Specialties 4

Our opening game of the week was a beauty, as Danbrook jumped out to an early lead 4-2 1st half lead. The 2nd half was all even as Poultry desperately tried to close the gap but just ran out of time.

Danbrook’s gunners were Tyler Danbrook and Aalt Pelleboer with two apiece with singles from Mike Beal and Matt Davis. Poultry got a hat trick from Shaine Jansen and a Steve Lavier single.

Corey’s Restaurant 7, Verne’s Carpet One 4

Our 2nd game saw Corey’s produce the 1st upset of the week as previously unbeaten Verne’s fell in the 2nd after they led 2-0 in the 1st. Corey’s had a great 2nd half performance outscoring Verne’s by a 7-2 margin and recording their 3rd win of the campaign.

Corey’s balanced attack included doubles from Ivan Hernandez and Terry Neudorf with singles from Dimitri Papadakos, Joe Lopes and Joe Oliveira. Verne’s Justin Young chipped in two with singles from Brad Smale and goalie Jason Beard.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Tillson Pizza 9, Signshop 6

In our following night of action, it was another major upset as winless Pizza took down previously unbeaten Signshop. They jumped out to an early 5-2 1st half lead and then hung tough throughout the 2nd to record their 1st win.

Pizza’s top gunners were Scott Dunbar and Nate Shearer with hat tricks, followed by a pair from Nick Karpouzos and single by Nathan Beard. Signshop’s Carlos Oliveira banged home three, followed by a pair from Amanda Palmer and single by Bailey Page.

Ontario Laser 15, DoneRight Landscaping 7

Our 2nd matchup was the turnaround event of the week as DoneRight were given a dose of the their own medicine. After cruising to a 3-0 start, they were Laser blasted in the 1st 10-2 before settling down to an even 2nd.

Laser’s Hunter Stolk did most of the early damage with five, followed by a trio of hat tricks from Cedric Tomico, Kris Foreman, and Colin Procunier and a single from goalie Tyler VanLeeuwen. DoneRight got three from Max Evanitski, a pair by Eric Kok and singles from Nathan Matos and Arie Vermeer.

Thursday, Nov. 21

Pettman’s Auctioneers 9, Computer Station 9

Our Thursday games, featured an exciting seesaw affair as Auction took the early slim 4-3 1st half edge. The 2nd went back and forth with Computer making a late comeback after being down 8-5, then took the lead with minutes remaining, but had to settle for the tie.

Auction’s Gerrit Pelleboer scored the late equalizer and led the way with five, followed by a Molson Page hat trick and single from Nancy Teixeira. The Station got doubles from Robbie McKeirnan, Garret Schuurman and goalie Darryl Price with singles by Jamie Lamont, Ashley Verstraten and Devin Schuurman.

Courtland PPM 8, Cocreo 4

And finally to finish off the crazy week, Courtland gets their 1st points of the season with an impressive performance over the always tough Cocreo crew. It was deadlocked at the half 3-3 before goalie Mike Mesquita blasted three seeing-eye missiles to settle the score in the 2nd.

Also scoring a hat trick for Courtland was Stephen DeGroote with singles from Dan Oliveira and Jerry Clergy. Cocreo got two from Marijn Noorland and singles by Andy Metselaar and Joel Taylor.

Wed. Dec. 4 – 8 p.m. DoneRight vs Courtland; 9 p.m. Poultry vs Corey’s
