Rona midgets down Lambton Shores

The Tillsonburg Rona AE Midgets skated to a 5-3 victory over Lambton Shores as their Bob Tansley Memorial AE Tournament highlight last weekend.

Tillsonburg’s Andrew Kersten scored from Zach Sanders and Gant Croker, and Croker found the back of the net from Josh Verschueren as the AE midgets locked up the win with a pair of unanswered third-period goals.

Croker got the home team on the board in the first with assists to Connor Wingrove and Josh Gooding; and Spencer McDowell notched Tillsonburg’s second of the game with help from Kersten.

The Rona AEs opened the tourney on the wrong end of a 5-1 decision against Strathroy. Braiden Clarke scored for Tillsonburg, which exited round-robin play with a 6-0 loss to Oakridge.
