Ches Sulkowski - Tillsonburg Indoor Soccer

Week 1

Tuesday, Oct. 29

Cocreo 4, Danbrook Auto 4

The opening game of a new indoor campaign was a great one as both teams battled defensively to a 1-1 1st half deadlock. The 2nd half was much the same and dead even again at four apiece. Cocreo’s Andy Metselaar led his squad with three, and Mario Noorland chipped home the single. Danbrook got a pair from Aalt Pelleboer with singles from Tyler Danbrook and Mike Beal.

Signshop 11, Courtland PPM 8

Our 2nd game was the opposite of our 1st, as both teams came out blasting with goals and when the dust settled it was Signshop up 4-3. The 2nd saw another dozen goals scored and it was Signshop once again prevailing on the scoreboard. Signshop’s Carlos Oliveira did a lot of damage, paving the way with six, followed by two each from Bailey Page and Ryan Chisholm and a single by Jenn Whittington. Courtland got hat tricks from Dan Oliveira and Jerry Clergy, with singles by Brittany Gemmel and Stephen DeGroote.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

Ontario Laser 14, Tillson Pizza 3

In our next night of action, it was all Laser blasting their way early to a 7-2 1st half lead. The 2nd was a ditto performance with little sympathy as they doubled their lead. Ryan VanLeeuwen and Hunter Stolk did most of the scoring with four apiece, followed by three from Kris Foreman, a pair from Cedric Tomico and single from goalie Tyler VanLeeuwen. Nathan Beard was the only one who could solve the Pizza puzzle chipping in the hat trick.

Corey’s Restaurant 11, Pettman’s Auctioneers 5

Our 2nd match of the evening was a game of strategy as a short-handed and defensive Corey’s squad, plus a hot goaltender, proved too much for the run-and-gun Auction crew. It was only a 4-2 1st half edge for Corey’s but solid goaltending from George Papadakos proved to be the turning point in the 2nd.

Corey’s Joe Lopes just couldn’t miss, leading the attack with seven followed by the hot foot of Ivan Hernandez with four. Auction got two from Kirk Vanittersum and singles by Gerrit Pelleboer, Chad Lofthouse and Goalie Jared Pettman.

Thursday, Oct. 31

Verne’s Carpet One 10, Poultry Specialties 1

On to our 3rd night of soccer... and ouch !! We saw another tilted floor score, as Verne’s Carpet opened up an early 5-0 1st half lead. They did much of the same in the 2nd but did allow a goal. Tim Hua had his foot to the Carpet with four, followed by three from Justin Young, a pair by goalie Jason Beard and single from Brad Smale. Poultry’s only consolation goal came from Cody Kraushaar.

DoneRight Landscaping 14, Computer Station 2

Oh no!! Another tilted floor score, as DoneRight totally crashed Computer’s party. The Landscapers opened up an early 5-0 1st half lead and never really looked back. They were ruthless in the 2nd adding another nine, but did allow a couple.

It was a night of hat tricks as four players, Max & Donnie Evanitski, Eric Kok and Mac Robinson all banged home a trio. Arie Vermeer and Jaime Nieto got the singles. Computer got singles from Nick Byrnes and goalie Darryl Price.
