Annandale donates to Terry Fox

Hello Tillsonburg!
October has been a busy month here at the house of learning we call Annandale. The Annandale School volleyball team is doing wonderful things this season, winning all games so far.
We have two teams this year, a boys team and a girls team. Members of these teams are Griffin Sinden, Riley Balazs, Zack Gazendam, Tylor Stewart, Tanner Gaitens, Duncan McLean, Andrew Hamm, Wolf Sym, Curtis Collver, Alex Fishback, Shane Brazier, Jordan Harrison, Ashley Rosehart, Jenny Folland, Jayden Simmonds, Victoria Kyriakopoulos, Jasmine Reddecop, Mariana Carson, Cassie Vanwynsberghe, Natalie Hessel, Kristen Arnel, Madelyn Bolton, Abi Robillard, and Taylor Gray. Keep up the good work!
Our school had its annual Terry Fox Run on Friday, October 18th. We actively participate in The Terry Fox Run and have participated in it for over 21 years. Every year we raise large amounts of money for The Terry Fox Foundation. This year we raised over $3,322, bringing our grand total of donations to a mind blowing $123,053.06! Great job Annandale on raising so much money for Terry Fox!
We have some fascinating events coming up at our school. On Thursday, October 31, Annandale will have a ‘spooctacular’ Halloween dance. Students can wear their costumes to school as well. Entry fee is one dollar and all donations will go the Terry Fox Foundation.
That will be one fun day, going to a good cause. As well as the dance, November will be a busy month for Annandale. Annandale’s Grade 8 Band is making great progress for their performance at the Remembrance Day Assembly on November 11. A reminder to all parents that progress reports will go home on November 8th.
Every month, Annandale celebrates a character trait by honoring one student from each class. September’s trait was The Respectful Classmate. The month of October’s theme was The Cooperative Learner. Coming up in November will be The Responsible Student. On November 4th we will have our parent council meeting.
Annandale learned an important message about perusing dreams during our spirit bear assembly. Simon Jackson told us about his spirit bear foundation. A spirit bear is a white Kermode bear, living in British Columbia.
Annandale donated $500 to the foundation. Save the spirit bear!
