The Tillsonburg Public Library was thrilled to welcome author, educator, and performer, Kari-Lynn Winters on Tuesday, October 15.
Kari-Lynn captivated her audience of over 100 local elementary school children with her interactive storytelling and introduced literacy-based concepts by engaging them in active discussions of her stories. It was an amazing experience that we are thrilled to have been part of.
There are a number of events coming up at the library! Saturday, October 26 will be an opportunity for little ones to come out to Little Monsters Storytime at 1 p.m. (ages 0-6 years) or Goosebumps: Scary Stories for Kids (ages 7-12 years) at 3 p.m. Please be aware that the stories will be scary, so children who are easily frightened may not enjoy this program. A Halloween party for teens will be held on Wednesday, October 30 and promises to be fun for 13-17 year olds. Don’t miss out on the chance to wear your cool or clever costume - you just might win a prize. There will also be a pumpkin design station, a last-man-standing balloon battle, pumpkin golf, Halloween trivia (with candy prizes, of course!) and to end things off we will watch “The Goonies” (classic!).
Plenty of adult programs are happening, too! The library will be starting a Monday Afternoon Film Series featuring specially selected movies each Monday afternoon in November (with the exception of November 11). For more information or film titles, please contact the library.
The library is pleased to welcome Carol Bossenberry of the Oxford Genealogical Society on Wednesday, November 13. Carol will be providing tips on how to begin researching your family’s history, as well as tricks for research that she’s learned along the way. Space for this program is limited and registration is required. Contact the library to reserve your spot in this free program!
Finally, the library will be hosting it’s Grand Opening on Thursday, November 14. Stay tuned, more details will be available soon!
