Norfolk OPP are seeking the public’s assistance after the driver of a vehicle described as ‘suspicious’ fled into a wooded area west of Courtland Tuesday (October 1) evening.
The incident began at 9:53 p.m. after Norfolk OPP received reports of a ‘suspicious’ red GMC pick-up trucked parked at an Adams Street address in Courtland. A vehicle matching the description was subsequently located by police travelling westbound on Highway #3. The driver allegedly failed to stop when police attempted to execute a traffic stop.
The vehicle left the roadway, coming to a halt in a farm field, whereupon a male described as six feet tall wearing a blue shirt and dark pants allegedly departed the vehicle and ran into a nearby wooded area.
Investigation of the incident continues and Norfolk OPP is asking anyone with information to call the detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
Lock your vehicles
Norfolk OPP is reminding the public to lock their vehicles after a purse including personal and financial information was allegedly removed from a vehicle parked at a Lakeshore Road, South Walsingham address during the early-morning hours of Monday, September 2013.
The vehicle was entered as it was parked in the driveway of a residence.
