Sacred Heart Eagles take flight

We are this year’s Eagles Events reporters. Our names are Madison, Alexandra, Dharma and Alexander. We are all in Grade 8 and look forward to reporting the Eagles Events happening at Sacred Heart School in Langton.
Summer holidays are over and it’s back to school again. The teachers have been busy getting everything ready for a smooth start to the school year. Custodians worked hard this summer cleaning and polishing to make the school shine as the students returned to Sacred Heart. Thank you to all adults for a great start. We welcome new students and staff members to our school family.
This week, students in Grades 6-8 were canvassing and working to gain support to be elected for a position on Students’ Council.
Successful candidates elected are shown in the picture and are: Co-presidents – Alexandra and Owen, Vice-president – Dakota, Secretary – Kasey, Treasurer – Jordan, Intramural Sports Co-ordinator – Ryan, Social Convenors – Lindsey and Connor, Staff Co-ordinators – Mrs. Dewaele and Mrs. J. Vanacker. We look forward to great things happening at SHS this year.
Last Friday, students celebrated together at our first mass for this school year at Sacred Heart Church. Thanks to Mrs. Atkinson and her choir for leading everyone in song and thank you to Father Slawek for leading us in prayer.
Excitement continues to grow as the students look forward to the Langton Fair. This event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Everyone has been working hard on their projects for the fair and also practising for the tug-of-war competition against the teams from Langton Public School.
