September 13
The Wagner Memorial Legion in Teeterville will be holding its ‘Wampus Cat’ (Chicken wing) feast, serving from 6-9 p.m. $13 per plate which includes two pounds of wings fries, and veggies. Everyone welcome. For further information call the Legion at 519-443-5588.

Tillsonburg’s 3rd Annual Electronics Recycling event is Saturday, Sept. 14, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Canadian Tire parking lot. Free drop off. Pick up in the Town of Tillsonburg for a nominal donation, contact the Station Arts Centre 519-842-6151 for more information.
The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association presents Wings and Wheels, a combination of classic aircraft and classic automobiles at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hangar tours, CHAA dive team display and opportunities for back seat rides available. Owl Prowl at Backus Heritage Conservation Area. The program starts at 7 p.m. in the Conservation Education Centre with an activity for children, followed by guided walk at 7:30 p.m. Learn about native Ontario owls and their amazing nocturnal adaptations. Car pool outing to the raptor migration at Hawk Cliff (East of Port Stanley in Elgin County), interpretive sessions hosted by the Hawk Cliff Foundation including daily live demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those wishing to car pool are invited to meet at the Bird Studies Canada parking lot near Port Rowan at 9:30 a.m. Bring a lunch, lawn chair and binoculars. Tillsonburg’s 33rd Annual Terry Fox Run begins at Cardio Plus, 518 Broadway. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., run begins at 10:30 a.m. Walk, run, bike or blade a 3K or 10K route. The 18th annual Long Point Region Memorial Forest Dedication Service will be held Sunday, September 15 at 2 p.m. This year’s memorial planting and dedication service will pay tribute to the lives of more than 175 individuals who passed away between Sept. 1, 2012 and Aug. 31, 2013. The Long Point Region Memorial Forest is located 2 km north of Port Rowan at the entrance to Backus Heritage Conservation Area. The Coffee Break Campaign runs from September 19 to November 30. Coffee Breaks are any type of social activity hosted by people who want to make a difference in their community. They can happen in your home, at your workplace or school, after a religious service or anywhere people gather for coffee. All funds raised stay in Oxford County and directly fund support programs and services offered by our local Alzheimer Society. Coffee, invitations for your guests, posters, other supplies, and helpful hosting tips are provided. September-Fest—‘Slip into fall” at the Livingston Centre, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come out and enjoy Free Live Music; free family fun activities, including bouncy castle, colouring contest and face painting; BBQ, ice Cream, apple cider and other food vendors; E-waste collection (bring your electronics and get rid of them!); Fall Mums Sale; free Pickleball demonstrations; book fair and trunk sale; raffles and prizes; and free Sobey’s sampling. Vendors ($10) are still needed for the trunk sale. For a donation of just ten dollars you can fill up your pick-up truck, minivan or other automobile of “stuff” and sell it at whatever price you wish to those passing by. 'Tillsonburg Little School' is a licensed non-profit childcare organization hoping to open its doors in the very near future. Fundraising efforts include a bottle drive from 9 a.m. am until noon. Empties (bottles and cans) can be dropped off at Grassmere Construction (49 North Street East). All proceeds will assist with start up costs and are greatly appreciated. The MSC is hosting the 2nd annual Trail Walk & Run in support of the local Parkinson’s Society and MSC programs and services. Held at Coronation Park along the Carroll Trail. The third annual Duck Day at the Long Point Waterfowl REC Centre from noon until 4 p.m. The day includes wildlife and conservation-related displays and demonstrations, free lunch and
