Bouncing babies at the Tillsonburg Fair

Thirty-three babies competed for prizes and ribbons at the 159th Tillsonburg Tri-County Fair Saturday, August 17 in the Kinsmen Memorial Arena.

Judges for the event were Tillsonburg Citizen of the Year Sam Lamb and Tamara Bull. Baby Show sponsors were the Tillsonburg Tri-County Fair Board and Carter Shows.

Infants six months and under had six special mention babies chosen. Leah Dale was the youngest girl (just five days), Abigail Homorlean was the baby girl with the chubbiest cheeks, and Sienna Giesbrecht had the brightest eyes. The baby boy with the most hair was Brady Smith. The baby boy that was happiest was Evan Hall, and the youngest baby boy was Sawyer Jull (just three days).

Other babies winning ribbons in these youngest classes were Brynn Pedley, Elena Robillard-Mordue, Layla Cope, Anthony Lucas Klassen, Colton Palmer, Beau Gradish-Walgraeve and Zachary Grawburg.

In the seven to 12 month age group, Alivia Haley had the brightest eyes, Aimee Bourre had the least hair and Addisyn McLain was the happiest baby girl. The sleepiest baby boy was Nathaniel Rigby. The baby boy with the biggest smile was Colton Fisher and the baby boy with the chubbiest cheeks was Camden Nobbs.

Other babies winning ribbons were Shelbi Barnim, Skylar Walters, Ainsley Wentzell, Brooklyn Wentzell, Caylee Wentzell, Aislinn Dunn and Mackinley Anderson.

In the 13 to 18 month classes the baby girl with the brightest eyes was Samantha Hessler. The baby boy with the curliest hair was Xzavier LaChance, the happiest and most active baby boy was Dylan Miners and the baby with the least hair was Cohen Hall.

Also winning ribbons in this age group were Anthony Weeda and Jared Klassen. The best multiple birth class was won by triplets Ainsley, Brooklyn and Caylee Wentzell.

Parents were very creative when dressing their babies for the fair theme "Sew It, Grow It, Show It." Judges chose Layla Cope who was dressed as a banana tree and Jared Klassen who was dressed as a cob of corn.

Draws for baby products and stuffed animals were held throughout the event.

A big thank you goes to the volunteers who made the show possible. They were Joan Green, Joan Ward, Marie Potter, Melissa Beard, Nikki Chesterman and Ilene Chesterman.
