Tillsonburg's U9 girls house league champs undefeated

This weekend the Allen Professional Group - People Bank (Talentcor) U9 girls finished their season with a bang, winning the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer year-end tournament for their age group.
The tournament started on Thursday, Aug. 8, and the U9 ladies of the Allen Professional Group - People Bank entered the game undefeated in season play. The girls faced U9 Blue in their opening game. Both teams played hard from start to finish resulting in a 2-2 tie.
The second game of the tournament's round robin was Saturday, Aug. 10, in the morning where they played U9 Red scoring a 4-2 victory.
The third and final round robin game was played at noon Saturday where Allen Professional Group - People Bank ladies faced off against U9 White. Entering this game both teams had three points in the tournament, and the winner would move on to finals at 3 p.m.
Another hard-fought battle was had between two good teams, however it was the ladies of the Allen Professional Group - People Bank who would come out victorious winning 3-0, sending them to the finals.
The girls would meet U9 Blue once again after tying them in the opening game. Allen Professional Group - People Bank girls came out strong scoring twice less than two minutes into the game. U9 Blue wouldn't go down without a fight though, battling back to make it 2-2 at one point in the game.
The girls of the Allen Professional Group - People Bank were able to nudge ahead by one before time ended having them win the game – and the tournament – with a score of 3-2.
"I'm very pleased with the performance of the girls in this game, the tournament, and the season,” said coach Shane Glendinning. “Going undefeated in a season is a hard thing to do. The girls should be proud of themselves as myself and the rest of the coaching staff are."
