Bingo, Bango Bongo golfing at The Bridges at Tillsonburg

Tuesday, July 23rd started out bright and sunny at The Bridges at Tillsonburg. As our game progressed it, it became apparent that not everyone was going to get off the golf course dry.

Fourteen nine-hole lades were among the lucky ones… we had just finished our game when it began to drizzle.

Our game for the day was Bingo Bango Bongo.  For those of you who are not familiar with the game it breaks down as one point each for first on the green, closest to the pin and first in the hole for each of the nine holes.

Wilma Jeffery was the winner with 13 points.  Ruth Gehman was second with 12 points and Dorell Clark was third with 11 points.

Eleven 18-hole ladies were not so lucky. They got wet, but were not deterred by the light rain.  They were playing for Net Score. In Flight A Peg Hogarth finished first with a 62 and Wendy Coward was second with 69. In Flight B Anne Spencer was first with 65 and Taye Jackson was second with 67.

Peg Hogarth had a birdie on No. 5 and Sue Ure had birdies on No. 2 and No. 18.

On Monday, July 22nd four 18-hole ladies attended a Member-Guest day at West Haven in London. Although their teams did not win any prizes, they had a great day golfing and Lil Neale and Phyl Lawrence each came home with a  lovely draw prize.

Next Tuesday the nine-hole ladies will be playing the back nine... beautiful but always a challenge.

See you on the greens.
