Week 7
Friday, July 19
Tillson Pizza 2, Ontario Laser 1
Wow, in our week of one-goal games, Field 2 featured the 1st barnburner as the Pizza crew makes it two wins in a row. It was deadlocked at one a piece in the 1st half before Brian Rocco slammed home the 2nd half winner. Pizza’s Trista Langrell and Laser’s Joe Oliviera got the 1st half singles.
JCW Floor & Tile 2, Corey’s 1
Field 3 featured our upset of the week as JCW recorded its 1st win of the campaign. It was a great defensive battle. Scoring was early, JCW opened up with a 2-1 lead and then managed to hold down the fort in the 2nd half for their big win.
Tim Harvey and Clayton Collver got singles for the Flooring gang, with Corey’s Dimitri Papadakos getting their lone marker.
BCFC 3, Ostrander’s 2
Field 4 was another super matchup as two middle of the table teams battled it out for position in the standings. It was deadlocked at one apiece at the half before BCFC’s big striker Curtis Wray completed his hat trick scoring the late winner in the 2nd. George Parkin and Ken Butcher got the singles for the Ostrander squad.
Signshop 4, Pettman’s Auctioneering 3
On Field 8, it was another great game with Signshop opening up the scoring with three straight goals before Auction replied late with a pair ending the half at a 3-2 edge. It was deadlocked 3-3 late in the 2nd before Max Evanitski broke down the wing and sent in a booming low shot to the corner just beating the fingertips of a sprawling goalie Jared Pettman.
Signshop’s Max added a pair with singles from Tyler Desplenter and Dino Vitti. Auction got singles from Peter Pedryc, Ryan Chisholm and Alechia Jardine. Auction had a few more good chances to tie it up but just couldn’t find the mesh.
