Congrats to GC Lounsbury Dirty Mitts for capturing the Men’s E Division of a SPN tournament held in Springfield last weekend.

We are coming up to mid-July meaning we are only a month away to slo-pitch playoff action.

Men’s A

Haines Roofing remained in first pulling out all their offensive arsenal scoring 12 eighth-inning runs to defeat Roosters.

Roosters had a big eight-run victory over third place Woodland RV and won by forfeit over Robert Q Travel. Woodland beat Robert Q by five.

Maple View Variety beat Gators 7-2 to round out the A Division action.

Maple View: Randy Miller 2-3, Ian Baker 2-3, Mike Wencel HR

Gators: Tyler Phillips 1-1, Scott Carruthers 1-2

Randy Miller and Mike Wencel each drove in two for the winners.

Roosters 23, Woodland RV 15

Roosters: Greg Buchner 6-6, Curtis Neable 5-6 HR, Mark Hamulecki 2 HRs, Derek Buchner HR

Curtis Neable had three three-run homers and a solo shot to lead Roosters.

Haines Roofing 24, Roosters 14

Haines: Jake Klassen 6-7 HR, Brett Ferguson 5-7, Dave Phillips 3 HRs, Martin Klassen 2 HRs, Shawn Finch HR

Roosters: Mark Hamulecki 3-5 2 HRs, Derek Kunderman 5-7, Curtis Neable 2 HRs

Haines tied it with a three-run seventh and won it hitting three homers in a 12-run ninth.

Woodland RV Park 13, Robert Q Travel 8

Woodland RV: Kyle Decleir 4-4, Brandon VanHaecke 4-4

Robert Q: Mike Supinski 4-4, Nick Nagy 4-5

Woodland’s Dave Mathews and Kyle Underhill each scored three runs.

Men’s B

Kirwin and Oatman got back on a roll winning three straight last week.

They had easy wins over Hollister KIA and Corey’s. They also had a walkoff win over Domino’s Hounds.

Domino’s upset first-place DeGroote-Hill by one and won by nine over Big Bass Brawlers.

Corey’s and GC Lounsbury won the other B Division games.

Kirwin and Oatman 25, Hollister KIA 13

Kirwin Oatman: Cheyne Sarafinchin 4-5, Jason Godby 4-5 HR, Thom Puhr HR

Hollister KIA: Travis Horvath 3-3 HR, Benson Howey 3-4

Kirwin Oatman’s Thom Puhr and Jason Godby each had a homer and three singles, and scored four runs.

Kirwin and Oatman 20, Corey’s 11

Kirwin Oatman: Jordan Rooke 4-4, Jason Godby 3-3 HR, Jordy Thompson HR

Corey’s: Adam Smith 3-4, Cody Vandommele 3-4

Jordy Thompson had a three-run homer and scored three runs for Kirwin and Oatman.

Kirwin and Oatman 9, Domino’s Hounds 8

Kirwin Oatman: Darryl Whittington 3-3, Darrell Maddock 3-4

Domino’s: Mike Bouck 3-4, Mark McKibbon 2-3

Joe Fanscher had the walkoff base hit in Kirwin and Oatman’s come from behind five-run seventh.

GC Lounsbury Dirty Mitts 15, Ontario Laser Spartans 10

GC Lounsbury: Kent Collings 4-4, Devin Lee 4-5

Ontario Laser: Jake Klassen 3-4, Corny Krahn 3-3

Dirty Mitts scored five eighth-inning runs to win it.

Domino’s Hounds 22, Big Bass Brawlers 12

Domino’s: Joel Prouse 4-5, Jason VanDenNeucker 4-5, Nick Barnim HR

Big Bass: Ross Groat 3-3 HR, Ryan Copping 3-4

Domino’s put this one away with seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Domino’s: Mark McKibbon 3-4, Joe Kingsbury 3-4

DeGroote-Hill: Paul Nicholson 3-3, Scott Mudford 3-4, Adam Goodlett HR

Domino’s plated five in the bottom of the sixth to win it.

Corey’s 14, Big Bass Brawlers 13

Corey’s: Dave Goncalves 4-4, Adam Smith 4-5, Mike Mesquita HR

Big Bass: Ryan Copping 3-3, Joe Stone 3-3 HR

Jason Vandommele scored the winning run for the nine-man Corey’s squad.

Men’s C

Broadway Lanes Bears emerged as the leader atop the ‘C’ loop after three victories last week.

Thursday night they won in walkoff fashion over co-leader Hit N Run. They had an easier time in wins over Destroyers and Stickmen.

Cain’s Pelicans also beat Destroyers last week.

Destroyers: Troy Temple 3-4, Kevin Alward (C Division All-Star MVP) 3-4

Ryan Verbuyst and Tyler Danbrook had a pair doubles for Cain’s.

Broadway Lanes 15, Hit N Run 14

Broadway Lanes: Jesse Legg 4-5, Jay Seitz 4-4, Derrick Harnish HR

Hit N Run: Frankie Knelsen 2-3, Johnny Klassen 2-3, Diedrich Klassen HR, Henry Klassen HR, Johnny Epp HR

Jesse Legg had the walkoff base hit plating Jeff Davies for Broadway.

Broadway Lanes 20, Destroyers 4

Broadway: RJ Peters 4-5, Brent O’Brien 4-5

Destroyers: Jesse Temple 2-2, Kevin Alward 2-2

Derrick Harnish, RJ Peters, Brent O’Brien and Jay Seitz scored three runs for the winners.

Broadway Lanes: Wes Haegens 5-5, Cam Curtis 5-5

Stickmen: Steve Hawel 3-4, Chris White 3-4 2 HRs

Everyone in the winner’s lineup scored at least one run.

Ladies A

Great Lakes Physio – Corey’s beat ServiceMaster under threatening skies and drizzling rain.

ServiceMaster kept it close till they gave up three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Great Lakes scored six to break up the low scoring game.

Ladies B

Hollister KIA moved one game up on second place Focus after they came up with impressive wins over A Division Jays and EMI Steelerz. They also beat Scared Hitless by two.

Focus kept pace winning both ends of a double-header against Hericanes. Scared Hitless moved within one game of third place Challengers after defeating Cardio Plus.

Hericanes: Melissa Mabee 4-5, Hilary Stoop 4-5

Nicole Sanderson had a bases-clearing triple for Focus.

Hollister KIA 20, Scared Hitless 18

Hollister KIA: Jen Cadman 3-3, Jenn Dahl 3-4

Scared Hitless: Mandi Howe 5-5, Cheryl Johnson 4-5

Hollister KIA did most of its damage in three innings plating six in the first two and seven in the third.

Jays: Melissa Hughes 3-4, Kirstie Jones 3-4

KIA broke up a close game putting seven across in the sixth.

Mandi Kromplak had the walkoff hit in Hollister’s two-run eighth.

Cardio Plus: Carly Matos 2-2, Kristy Hawley 2-2

Allison DeBlaire had a triple and double for Scared Hitless.

Cheryl Idilson scored four runs for Focus.
