Week Six
Friday, July 12
Pettman’s Auctioneering 10, JCW Floor & Tile 3
Field 2 featured the Auction crew jumping out to an early 2-0 1st half lead. Then scoring machine Mike Vandenbrink kicked in a season high five, as Auction outscored JCW in the 2nd by an 8-3 margin.
Also leading the attack was Alechia Jardine with a pair, and singles from Ryan Chisholm and Peter Pedryc. Oh yes, and finally after numerous missed opportunities, Jared Pettman got his 1st goal of the campaign. JCW got a pair from Mark Locker and single by Tim Harvey.
Tillson Pizza 5, Cocreo 4
Field 3 was our upset of the week as Pizza recorded its 2nd win of the season with a great short-handed effort. They jumped out to an early 4-1 1st half lead and then held on as Cocreo made a strong 2nd half surge.
Tillson Pizza’s Nick Karpouzos got a hat trick followed by singles from Scott Dunbar and Nathan Beard. Austin Corriveau chipped home a pair for Cocreo with singles from Romel Diaz and Aalt Pelleboer.
Computer Station 3, Corey’s Restaurant 2
Field 4 was another great matchup as our two tops teams battled for honours in the standings. It was deadlocked at 2-2 at the half before Computer’s Ishmael Dalm scored the late winner in the 2nd, handing Corey’s its 1st defeat.
‘Ish’ did all the damage for Station with a hat trick. Corey’s Mac Robinson and Mandy McSherry got their singles.
Ostrander’s 2, Ontario Laser 0
On Field 8, it was another good defensive game as Ostrander’s opened up with a 2-0 1st half lead. They had to hang on tough as Laser put on some good 2nd half pressure, but the defense held tight giving them their 2nd win of the season.
Scoring 1st half goals for the Ostrander crew were Ken Butcher and Greg Luksys.
Week 7 – Friday, July 19 – 7 p.m.
